Getting to the truth of B2B Marketing

We have found that the quality of information available to B2B companies on marketing falls short of what's needed to make sound decisions. B2B marketing campaigns are often pitched using B2C (not B2B) stats or techniques. The reality is that B2B, and B2C businesses have very different needs. They have very different target audiences with very different motivations. Qualification processes and timelines for B2B are very different, with much greater lifetime financial potential possible from a much smaller client base. 

Why an Open Day?

With all this misinformation about B2B marketing floating around, Digital Storytelling Collective decided someone needed to step up and help owners and management teams understand the right approach for their individual businesses… so we decided to have a B2B Business Growth Open Day (which is a week!).

The idea behind an Open Day is that we can provide information in a way that fits the needs of each business. Those participating get to ask any questions they want about marketing in general or specifically about their business. Our role is to act as the 'The University of Marketing', providing a more well-rounded understanding of the roles and functions of marketing, broadening perspectives, and fuelling future growth of their business.

How it works

Click on the link below to book a time for you and (if you want) your team. Once the time is confirmed, we'll send you a Zoom meeting request. You need only 'accept' the meeting request and make sure it's added to your calendar. You will then receive a reminder of your private session one day out. You can find Zoom Meetings in App Stores or online if you don't have it already.

What you need to do

Follow the booking process (as outlined above). If you want to get more out of the meeting, you should have the following information available on the day. Keep in mind any discussions are entirely confidential, and you are under no obligation to share information you want to protect; however, like attending a physician, the more you tell us, the more we can help.

The info you may want to have on hand:

•    Where are you ranked in your sector by revenue, reputation, and brand awareness?
•    What percentage of revenue do you invest in marketing?
•    What internal marketing resources do you have?
•    What marketing services do you outsource?
•    Can you track your ROI on Marketing, and if so, what is it?
•    What percentage of your new business can be attributed to marketing, sales teams and business networks, and also referrals?
•    Do you have a brief overview of current business challenges?
•    Do you have a brief overview of business opportunities?

What will we do?

Our discussion will be informal and fun. We will start by discussing your business's and your sector's opportunities and challenges. We will then brainstorm a few ideas based on our experience in your space (or similar areas) and cite examples of how we or others have solved similar marketing challenges.

At the end of the 50-minute session, we expect you will come away with a renewed focus and more realistic expectations of how more focused marketing can work for your business. You are then free to apply that knowledge as you like.
